Alerts in Discord

Discord is a community application widely used by gamers and developers.
Through the different steps described below, you will be able to configure the sending of Hitflow notifications directly to your Discord servers.

Before going any further, you must have a valid Discord account and make sure that you have administrator rights on the server where you want the monitoring alerts to appear.

  • Summary

What does an alert in Discord look like?

We have developed a Discord Connector that allows message display in any room of your Discord server.
The integration of Discord in our alert system is transparent and as with other types of alerts, you will receive a certain amount of information about the test that triggered the notification.

Example of an alert displayed in a Discord Room

Generating the Webhook on the Discord Server

First, we will explain how to generate a Webhook URL from the settings screen of your Discord server:

  1. Go to the "Integration" part of your Discord server settings.
  2. Click on the "Create a Webhook" button to open the creation form.
  3. Enter a name to identify that this Webhook will be used by our robots.
  4. Choose in the dropdown menu the room in which you want the messages to appear.

By following these steps, you have generated the URL that will allow our robots to send alerts. All you have to do now is click on the "Copy Webhook URL" button to keep this URL preciously in your clipboard.

Add the Webhook to your Hitflow account

We will now explain where in the manager you have to fill in the URL generated in the previous step.

  1. Go to your manager on the "Integration" page available from the navigation menu under "Settings".
  2. Click on the Add integration to display the add form.
  3. Define the name of the integration that will be visible only in your manager.
  4. Use the drop-down menu to select the "Discord" integration type.
  5. Save your entry by pressing the button Allow access.

Once this second step is complete, you should see the Webhook appear in the list of integrations. There is only one step left in the settings to receive the alert messages in your discord room.

Edit your Hitflow contact

Finally, we will add the previously created integration to a contact so that alerts can be sent using the URL of the Webhook of your Discord server.

  1. Go to the management page of one of your contacts from the navigation menu (heading alerts > contacts).
  2. Edit or create a new contact according to your choice.
  3. Once the edit form is displayed, click on the button Add a new method.
  4. Select the "Integration" type and then in the second drop-down menu, choose the name you created in the previous step.
  5. Save the change by clicking the Save button.

When you return to your Discord server, you should see a message indicating that the contact configuration has been done correctly.

We are actively working on adding connections to the main collaborative work tools. However, in case you can't find a connector for your tool, we invite you to consult the creation of Webhook to design your own custom connection.
